Our Approach to
Navigating Sustainability
Pure Flight Programme
CFS approaches sustainability through an accountable framework anchored in the Pure Flight Programme, which integrates carbon neutrality directly into its aviation offering. Rather than positioning sustainability as an optional add-on, CFS embeds carbon offsetting into every flight, ensuring that the environmental impact of air travel is actively mitigated as part of our standard operating model.
In partnership with Credible Carbon, CFS sources verified carbon credits from independently audited projects that deliver measurable reductions in CO2 emissions. These projects extend beyond environmental impact, contributing to broader socio-economic outcomes such as job creation, biodiversity preservation, food security, and community upliftment, aligning sustainability with tangible developmental value.

Tswalu Kalahari
Reserve Project
The Tswalu Kalahari Reserve Project, developed in partnership with Tswalu Kalahari Reserve and Rewild Capital, is dedicated to increasing soil carbon sequestration and reducing emissions through regenerative land management practices.
Through the Pure Flight Programme, funds generated from the carbon credits purchased by CFS are invested directly into the project. This enables the company to offset a portion of its greenhouse gas emissions while contributing to the long-term preservation, restoration, and regeneration of the Kalahari ecosystem.
118,000 HA
SA’s largest private protected reserve under regenerative management.
34,471 Tonnes of CO₂
Verified carbon emissions removed or avoided during project’s first audit.
75 Mammal Species
Protected within the reserve through long-term conservation management.
50% Carbon Revenue
Reinvested into community development and poverty alleviation.

Sun Exchange Project
Established in 2015, Sun Exchange is a South African-based global solar leasing platform that allows anyone around the world to own and earn income from solar panels powering schools, retirement homes, commercial farms, and other organisations in South Africa.
Through the Pure Flight Programme, proceeds from carbon credits purchased by CFS are invested directly into the project. This supports the provision of clean, affordable solar energy to facilities serving approximately 11,845 learners and 620 retirement-home residents each year.
27 Solar Projects
Delivering renewable energy to various institutions across Southern Africa.
5,806 Tonnes of CO₂
Verified carbon emissions avoided through solar energy generated between 2020 and 2022.
11,845 Learners
Benefiting from cleaner, more affordable energy supplied to participating schools each year.
50% Carbon Revenue
Allocated to subsidising electricity tariffs at lower-income schools and other social-impact projects.

Kuyasa Project
The Kuyasa Low-Carbon Housing Project, developed by PACE, introduced energy-efficient technologies to 2,100 homes in Khayelitsha, Western Cape. Solar water heaters, insulated ceilings, and energy-efficient lighting help reduce household energy costs, improve indoor air quality, and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
Through the Pure Flight Programme, funds generated from carbon credits purchased by CFS are invested directly into the project. This supports the ongoing maintenance of the solar water heaters and community initiatives, including local food gardens, while contributing to safer, healthier, and more energy-efficient homes.
2,100 Homes
Equipped with solar water heaters, insulated ceilings, and energy-efficient lighting.
36,790 Tonnes of CO₂
Audited carbon credits generated through the project’s emission-reduction activities.
85 Full-Time Jobs
Created within the local community, including opportunities for young people and women.
R1,000 Annual Saving
Estimated reduction in energy costs for each participating household.
